this time my ex bf ran with me after we ran into eachother. he runs marathons..i dont. despite the fact that ive been working out a lot a lot…i felt so out of shape. im ready to pass out. GUH. people are supposed to be coming over in a couple hrs for my sisters graduation party. rrreally dont want to be a designated driver tonite.the plan is to drink champagne and eat chicken and jump on the trampoline and drink champagne.

Hey guys, after reading similar sentiments would you guys be interested in coming together and forming like a Sculpture Key Club? Hahaha we could have jackets!

I think we should have like 24 hour collaboration competitions, and dance parties (Sadie Hawkins!) in Crit 3, and maybe a monthly departmental night show just for students to get an idea of the finished products of alot of what we see going on in the studio. And Pet Parades! And Cook-Offs!

sometimes I wonder if i’m really supposed to be majoring in sculpture. i really like it and thoroughly enjoy it, but I’m so interested in so many other topics lately that i feel like these new interests are really what I need to be pursuing. It really sucks though that I’m already a Junior and just realizing this. I think i’m just going to fuse my interests and new hobbies into my art practice. i actually think they’ll help me create more conceptual things. hopefully lol idk. ughhhhh life is oh so confusing!!

i  think about this all the time; like do i want to be a cake decorator or a dental hygenist and make fake teeth?

Oh my dog, I wonder the same thing. Well not EXACTLY. But sometimes I wonder if I would rather just restore old cars and old houses or actually persue art. Good to know I’m not the only one!!!

I do too! Honestly, I can’t imagine not having any other interests that you want to pursue. I know for me, last semester when I was taking my science class it showed in my work. I think if someone is just all about art, then they’re selling themselves short. There’s so much more in the world to be curious about! But yeah, some times I wonder if sculpture is really for me, but I think that also might stem from me feeling intimidated some times because everyone seems to know what they’re doing. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t get the sense of the strong “community” that was talked about when I first started in the department.

yeah im in richmond! and i agree about the community! sure there are some ppl who are really close but i feel like they shun the other people they’re not close with. there’s so many clicks and i agree about the intimidation, because i feel like that!!! i feel like damn idk what im doing sometimes. i just like to experiment with everything and it seems like every one has found they’re “desired material” to work with and i’m over here making candy ponies lmao jk i liked that piece haha but yeah i feel you!

i’m in richmond too. yeah, the community thing is kind of weird… i feel like there are some people who think they’re hot shit when really theyre just cold diarrhea. lol i couldnt resist. but no really, there’s such a divide between the classes (juniors, seniors, etc), and it makes it more intimidating than community-ish. we should have more department functions or something. or we can play that game where everyone gets trapped in a knot grabbing peoples’ arms like in 4th grade.

hahaha its crazy that everyone thinks they dont know what they are doing; maybe that means we do? i dont know but i def. didnt think that any of yall really thought these things, like really its crazy, why are we all majoring in something that we dont even seem or pretend to know? is that all majors?
